Route

A simple but very interesting tour inside the Bessa nature reserve, an archaeological site in Biella and an ancient gold deposit.

Departure is from Biella's cemetery, following the perimeter of the cemetery. We cross the main road straight ahead and, being careful, turn left after a small bridge onto the first gravel road.

The route then crosses the "Maghetto" provincial road again, through ravel tracks and fields. We keep straight and do not turn until reaching the "via alle cascine" junction, and then follow the road to the crossroads, where we turn left and then left again at the second junction in the direction of "Borriana".

Once there, we follow the signs for "Frazione Rivalta" and then cross a footbridge to finally enter the Nature Park.

We enter a wide gravel road and turn left at the first trail (yellow trail marker) and then continue to the main road for about 300 meters and turn onto an uphill road to the right.

From here, we follow this 'main' road to a picnic area and then a gold panning area (an activity for which the Bessa is known).

We go straight ahead and find a gravel road on our left. We cover it for about 500 meters and then turn right onto the path (S3), following the signs for Cerrione.

We then come to an asphalt road: we take "via case sparse Cerrione" and turn around 180° on our left.

From this point, we keep following the road until reaching the asphalt and go straight on until we reach a roundabout: we take the first exit on the right, go straight on and then take the first exit on the right called "via per Borriana". We take this road as far as the bridge that we cross, where we find the road w had taken earlier and which will take us back to the starting point. Enjoy your ride!
