Route
The Prevostura is a historic marathon race valid for the Italian and European championships in this discipline. Since the 1990s, the race has been held every year attracting hundreds of athletes from all over Italy and abroad. The route is long and challenging with muscle bikes and becomes affordable for everyone if done with e-bikes, as it does not require advanced driving techniques.
Starting from the centre of the village of Lessona, the route goes around the village and then into the woods and vineyards that separate the Strona Valley from the Rive Rosse. The route alternates between wide views of the Lessona and Bramaterra vineyards (some of the finest wines in Alto Piemonte) and passages through the typical woodland of the area, consisting mainly of chestnut, hornbeam and oak trees.
The loop route runs along dirt roads, cobblestones and single tracks that are always easy to ride.
