Route
The Serrabike is a historic marathon race valid for the Italian FCI championship. Since the 1990s, the race has been held every year and attracts hundreds of athletes from all over Italy. The route winds along the ridges of the Serra Morenica, which separates the Biella area from the Ivrea area. This steadily sloping strip, created by the retreat of the Aosta Valley glacier during the last great glaciation, is now overlooked by alternating chestnut, oak and spruce woods, which alternate with views of the Po Valley, the Cottian Alps and the moraine amphitheatre of Ivrea.
The route mainly follows wide dirt roads that climb and descend the glacial moraine, offering very enjoyable and smooth single track sections, the most famous of which has been renamed "Eden" by cyclists. The Serrabike tour descends in the central area of the moraine meeting the characteristic villages of Zubiena, Magnano and Zimone.
