Route
Through this itinerary, we will first discover the Cervo valley, then climb up to the Sanctuary of San Giovanni and continue on to one of the most beautiful climbs in Biella, which after several hairpin bends will take us through a short tunnel to cross the valley and descend into the opposite Oropa valley. Departure from Biella: Piazza Martiri, where we ride up via Cavour for a short stretch and then turn right onto via Cesare Battisti. We go straight ahead as far as the traffic lights and then turn left at the roundabout, following the signs for Tollegno. From here, we continue first towards Andorno and then, still on the provincial road, we pass Sagliano Micca up to "Balma" locality where we turn right towards Quittengo. After passing Piccolo Borgo, the road after a short descent, will take us back to the provincial road and passing the village of Campiglia Cervo we will climb for 2 km until we pass a junction and, just after a bridge, we turn left towards the Sanctuary of San Giovanni. From here, we cannot go wrong: following the climb we arrive at the Rosazza Tunnel that once passed (a lamp recommended), following the only road, we descend to the Sanctuary of Oropa. Once there we ride backwards along the legendary "Salita del Giro" (climb of the tour); descending along the road of the same name and without ever leaving it, we get to a crossroads. We pass it by continuing straight uphill and thus find ourselves in the historic village of "Biella Piazzo". Keeping to the main street after a short descent, at the crossroads with Via Ivrea, we turn left and cross the next two roundabouts. At the third roundabout, we turn left into via Pietro Micca, which take us back to our starting point.
