The Zegna panoramic road from Trivero leads by car to Bocchetta di Margosio, where there is a large and very convenient car park.
Route
From Bocchetta di Margosio (1332m), take trail F3a on the right, looking at Monte Rosa (number 5 if you refer to the Zegna Oasis map) towards Stavello.
Following the flat path, you reach a large building (Scout house), near which you leave the gravel track that descends to the Bocchetta di Stavello on the left and continue on the right towards San Bernardo on a now evident track.
Climb diagonally, with a limited gradient, to reach a knoll, where the path coming from Trivero crosses. Turn right and immediately cross the remains of an ancient chapel. The path then becomes steep and climbs through a coniferous wood, joining the wide path coming from the Panoramica Zegna (route 7 of the Zegna Oasis). Following the unpaved track, you will reach San Bernardo, at an altitude of 1408m.
From the church, take a steep downhill path that leads to the San Bernardo pass in about 10 minutes, where it crosses a gravel road coming from the Panoramica Zegna. To the left of the wide hill, near a signpost, take the steep path uphill. After climbing up through a small coniferous forest, continue among the rhododendrons until the slope softens for a short distance. Continue along the ridge, passing near some rocky outcrops until you reach Monte Rubello peak, you will see the repeater tower. Continue on a slight descent, passing near Monte Prapian or Massaro, and descend until you come to an asphalt road. It is not possible to reach the top of the mountain, as it is a forbidden military zone. At a hairpin bend, take the steep path that continues to descend to the Margosio pass.
