MOUNTAIN AND CULTURE: THE GOLD ROAD

Thematic
Request information

The place-name "Oro" (gold), very common in the Biellese area, generically indicates a side ridge of the mountain and more often a place, pasture or farmstead in a prominent position. The route, once completely paved, descends rapidly to the valley floor through chestnut and beech woods. Signs of the past have remained along the route: votive chapels, engraved stones, dry stonewalls.
