From the car park in Piedicavallo, near the Ravere Park, go up to the last small square in the village and take the road to Lago della Vecchia (signpost E50) which, after passing a row of old houses, joins the mule track, passing through the pastures of Rosei, Casette-Canabà and the Rifugio della Vecchia. Continue along the mule track for another 10 minutes to reach the lake. Back to the hut, take E59 trail that leads to Colletto della Bosa, passing Colle Chaparelle and Ambruse Pass; from here, continue along the trail (signpost E69) that passes near Lake Riazzale. Past the junction with the E65, the route becomes impervious until it reaches Alpe Lavazzey, then the route of the Alta Via delle Alpi Biellesi and the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (signpost E60). With a difference in altitude of 160 m, the E60 trail leads us to the Rivetti Refuge in 30 minutes. To return to the valley, retrace your steps along the E60 trail, which passes Alpe Anval (junction with the old mule track to Mologna Piccola), then enters the woods along the left bank of the Mologna, passes the Montà huts and leads back to Piedicavallo.
