PIEDICAVALLO - MONTE BO
Excursion
Starting from Montesinaro hamlet, go past the cemetery square and continue for about 100 metres to the upper car park. On the left, in correspondence of a big tree, begins the path (signpost E70) towards Croso pass; follow the mule track that leads to the entrance of the Chiobbia river valley. Continuing in a north-easterly direction, go past Alpe Le Piane (1320 m) and just before reaching Alpe Chiobbia, cross the stream on the orographic left side of the valley. Below Colle Croso, turn off onto the E74 mule track (E70 leads to the Croso pass and then down to Valsesia) and climb up the valley in an easterly direction. The path cuts across the mountainside and then rises with steep bends to a vast plateau known as the "Piazza d'Armi". From here, having reached the pass between Punta del Talamone on the left and the Bo peak on the right, follow the ridge and reach the summit passing by the Antoniotti bivouac.
