UPPER VALSESSERA RING: FIRST STAGE
Excursion
From Bocchetto Sessera (1382 m), take path F11, also signposted as Mountain Fitness, which winds its way up to the left. The climb up the meadow is quite demanding and in about an hour, you reach the top of Monticchio (1697 m) from where you can enjoy the view of the Cervo valley and, simply following the ridgeline, Mount Bo. Continuing along the path, you pass Colma Bella (1679 m) and, after a collar at 1,640 m, you start climbing again until you reach the summit of Bonom (1878 m). Go down to the saddles of Bassa del Cognolo, then at Bassa del Campo you meet path F1 along which you continue towards the Cima delle Guardie (2007 m) and then go down to Bocchetta di Isolà or Bassa della Cavallina.
The trail now climbs decisively towards Cima di Pietrabianca, without reaching it, with the path becoming steeper and steeper on the ridge with a last grassy section that takes us to a flat ridge path and a last slope up to Punta del Cravile (2392 m).
Following the rocky ridge, passing by Cima d'Ala, one arrives at Colle del Manzo (2337 m); from here the path makes a traverse on an extremely steep grassy slope making the final stretch challenging, but once reached the Bo summit, the view of the mountains is superlative (Gran Paradiso, Gran Combin, M. Rosa).
