UPPER VALSESSERA RING: THIRD STAGE

Excursion
Request information

From Alpe La Peccia (1368 m) follow path F6 to reach Poggio Carnera, an excellent panoramic point, Alpe Fornei and Bocchetta di Fornei (1919 m).

From here, path F24 quickly climbs up the crest and follows a couple of grassy ledges until you reach Scataccia peak; you pass just below Testone delle Tre Alpi and, following the crest, you reach Crocetta (1866 m).

Continue along the crest passing the Pallone della Crocetta and the Cima d'Ometto and descend following the ridge to the right of the ski slope until the Colma dei Lavaggi and the Alpe Camparient (1536 m) from where you descend to the Bocchetta della Boscarola (1425 m).

Now take path F2 and enter the woods along the Stramba stream. The path is very easy and winds its way through mixed woodland as far as Alpe Baroso. Following signpost F22, it rapidly gains height with continuous turns through the beech woodland until it reaches the meadow that leads to Alpe Fontanamora (1691 m) from where there is a beautiful view of Mount Rosa and the eastern part of Upper Valsessera.
