Departure a few dozen metres after the bridge over the Elvo stream on the Tracciolino road that goes from Andrate to Oropa at an altitude of 950 m, where the sign indicating the beginning of C3 mule track is clearly visible.

Climb up in a northerly direction to Ponte Cabrin (1250 m), a characteristic iron bridge that crosses the Elvo stream.

Further on, ignore on the left the junction for Colle della Lace (sent C2), and reach Alpe Le Piane (1310 m) slightly uphill; after about 100 metres start to climb, leaving path C4 on the right which continues towards Alpe Tura and Bocchetta del Lago.

Pass a hydroelectric cabin and continue over steep pastures to the Sella alpine pasture (1831 m). Continue over a steep rise, passing the ruins of a small alpine pasture, to reach the Coda hut (2252 m).
